Personal Response
There are three interesting points from this article. The first is mr. Winouker's ability to see opportunities and change them to successful business. For example, he started his business by focusing on the right segment which was office workers in downtown who were busy, so they needed only quick and light meal in the morning, normally coffee and a product from bakery. Moreover, he did not only wait for customers to walk pass by his shop, but also did delivery which matched with target customers’ lifestyle. Furthermore, when he knew that a lot of people interested in his business, he decided to franchise.
Second point is the companies that have seen opportunities of Mister Donut in their regions and brought trademark rights or master franchise. The last point is the innovative strategy that tie-ups Mister Donut with 7-Eleven, Shell Select, Petron and other convenience stores.
